Trace

Trace was a 2nd-year university project which aimed to create a video "tracing" something around Borough Market, London.
In my case, I decided to trace "blind spots" - locations in the market which didn't have CCTV coverage. As I found, the few spots which were "invisible" formed an interesting layout of the market, and to visualise this I decided to utilise point cloud photogrammetry to capture the essence of each space.
Inspired by the ghostly aesthetic of the Nolan Batman movies' radio/sonar vision, I mixed in recorded audio from each location and dyed the point clouds a blue within a dark abyss, inverting the unseen into seen…
As part of the brief, we also had to make a physical postcard, on which I chose to showcase the layout of my video scene from above, traced from the bottom right, down and around.
