QR Code Business Card

After having some acrylic leftovers from my previous Shape Shifter project, I made some QR code "business cards" as a little side project.

The reasoning for using this sort of design over the traditional rectangular business card was because I don't like overwhelming designs with a lot of text, and I felt as though a business card should represent me similarly.

I didn't see the need to add in a lot of different tags when I have a website that can tell you everything about me.

Realistically, in 2025 where most people just send you their website/profile, or tell you to open it on your phone in person, I wanted to make these mostly as a little token to hand out to people that they could not only keep as a memento of our interaction, but also prompt them to later on take a look at the archive of stuff here in their own time rather than just skim it in the moment and probably not look again.

Big brain moment, haha.

Ironically the rounded corners and Inter font were quite soon retired from my website branding, but it was an aesthetic that I felt had a sense of industrial precision to it, despite only being acrylic, feeling quite "Apple-esque".

I liked the thinner form factor as it:

I also chose the thinner form factor as it:

1) meant I could get more from the sheet of acrylic I was cutting

but also,

2) made for an interesting and more memorable item, akin to a USB stick or a perfume scent tester which could easily be held one end and grabbed on the other by someone else.

And yeah… the QR leads to my domain (enricoarapi dot com)

Bonus points if that's how you got here!
